When it comes to choosing a hen party, you don’t settle for the standard night on the tiles.  There are plenty of alternatives to choose from when you’re trying to come to a decision about where you and your female friends are going to go, but one option which could be very special is a 5 day trip to Norway.  There are plenty of reasons to go, so here are 5 great things to see and do in Norway to full up a great 5 day holiday.

5 – Walk Round the Fjords

Fjords are a massive part of Norwegian culture.  Essentially, they’re massive, deep lakes which cut like knives into the grand Norwegian countryside.  Offering break-taking scenery and the perfect excuse for some healthy exercise, they’re almost as opposite as they can be from an alcohol-fuelled night out here in the UK.

4 – Culture-Filled Capital

One of the best things about Norway is its capital, Oslo, and in winter, there are literally thousands of things to do.  One of the most scenic things might be a guided winter walk around Oslo which travels different routes on different days of the week.    The advantage to this for you is that you can pick and choose which day you’d like go on your tour on depending on which route takes your interest.

3 – Stadtlandet Surfing

If you consider yourself a little bit of a sporty group, you might consider taking a trip to Stadtlandet, considered a paradise for surfers and history buffs alike.  It’s a difficult surfing spot and the competition is steep, so be prepared for a surfing battle.  Once you’ve done with that, you can visit Norway’s oldest monastery ruins and then stay overnight in a lighthouse.

2 – A Night Out You Won’t Forget

Norway – and Oslo in particular – has an exceptional nightlife, with clubs and bars to cater for every taste.  If you’re after trendy clubs, Frogner and Majorstua are the places to be, and if you’re into a more alternative scene, take your girls to Youngstorget for a great night of alt dance and indie rock.

1 – A Natural Spectacle

Arguably one of the best natural wonders our world bares whininess to, the Northern Lights are a spectacle to behold, and they might just warrant a trip to Norway regardless of the occasion. The winter is the perfect time to take the trip to see the lights, too, as the sky will be at its darkest so the aura will be at its most visible.

As you can see, there are lots of reasons to take a holiday in Norway for your hen party.
