The Perfume Society Discovery Boxes

Following on the back of the hugely successful “beauty boxes” comes the one specifically designed for perfumistas.

Perfume samples in vials generally come free from brands so the idea of a perfume samples box initially seems a bit cheeky – but this is a curated selection of samples, some up to 5ml in size with loads of extra goodies too!  The Blossom box had a 50ml tube of Elemis hand cream (to fit with the Blossom theme) and the “Discovery” box had a beautiful blue notebook and a Crabtree & Evelyn hand cream.  The earlier boxes had beautiful skincare additions from Liz Earle and Sarah Chapman.

So in addition to the curated perfume samples (some of which are from niche, hard to find brands such as L’Artisan Parfumier and Creed) some in 5-15ml size and the extra goodies you also get the guide cards.  For someone like me who is keenly interested in fragrance – not just the name or the bottle but the background, the complexity of the fragrance and what notes to watch out for.  It allows me to talk more coherently about fragrance, to expand my knowledge base and also refine my “palette” in terms of what I can identify in terms of ingredients.
