Seasonal White Wines To Close The Year With
Will it really be a white Christmas as the weather experts predicted? Meantime, here’s a selection of crisp whites to keep it icy this December. And as always, we’ve added a little twist at the end.
From Aldi
Belletti Bucks Fizz – 4% abv
A festive blend of white wine and orange juice boasting a lemon and apple-y palate. Bucks Fizz will appeal with its low alcohol content and sophisticated bubbles.
Camolio Asti – 7% abv
Sweet, sparkling wine, well known for making a presence at weddings. The 100% Moscato grapes go well with pastries and deserts, just right for festivities with a bunch of your best gal pals at Christmas.
Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore – 11% abv
Spirited bubbles of floral and winter fruit flavours will dance on your palate. Yes, we love Prosecco’s medium dryness that’s pleasing all year round.
Sancerre Appelation D’Origine Protegeé 2015 – 12.5% abv
A prestige white characterised by a heavy floral bouquet, this wine ranks among our top picks for pairing with fish dishes this season.
Warrior Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2014 New Zealand – 12% abv
From the Marlborough Estate comes a ripe white full of tropical fruitiness. Savour it on its own.
We keep featuring Toro Loco Rosé – 12% abv and with good reason – the sweet, red cherries palate makes this wine a pleasure to drink. Enjoy alongside a dish of fresh prawns, or lighter meals. Also goes well with fruit salads.
