Rutland Edinburgh sets their table in time for the Fringe
Heading to Edinburgh for the Fringe or long suffering local? Either way, take time out to enjoy a quick but tasty bite in the Rutland Bar.
If you are pressed for time – out shopping or on a hour’s lunch break to meet the girls – Rutland’s Bar provides tasty lunches – quickly and simply. A good menu range, extensive drinks selection from the bar and mixologists or coffee and desert makes this a great place to hang your hat for an hour or two! What we liked about it;
*We were in and out in an hour. Service is timely and efficient – chef is obviously in control of the kitchen and food comes out well prepared and hot. This makes a big difference as we’ve all been there – sitting around 20 minutes after you’ve ordered waiting for your first course.
*Choice of small or large portion. This is a fantastic offering – not many places do it and many of my friends and family have commented visiting other restaurants that the portions are just too big! Often us ladies like something more delicate on the stomach as we have to continue on shopping and it’s awful on a heavy stomach. Small portions are great – even my 24 year old followed by some lovely ice-cream and one of the most sumptuous chocolate deserts I’ve ever had accompanied by home made macarons.
The Rutland is located in Edinburgh’s West End – sandwiched between the Caledonian Hilton Hotel and House of Fraser. Open for breakfast from 8am, serving lunch, afternoon treats and a fantastic Sunday Brunch menu (Sunday only) from 11.30 – 5pm, and licensed from 11am – 1am, The Rutland Bar has it covered throughout the week. Our new daytime menu features hearty favourites like sausage & mash and ham, egg & chips, a range of gourmet burgers, mouth-watering salads and moreish sandwiches. Most dishes come in either ‘small’ or ‘large’ portions catering for all appetites and budgets.
