Nude complexion nails – Cheap vs Chic

By  |  0 Comments

This AW winter the big nail trend is for “complexion” nails. We tried New CID polish in Tiramisu and 2True’s Shade 11 to see what all the fuss was about.

Well firstly – 2True’s shade looks a tiny bit like I’ve put foundation on my fingernails.  Not sure if that’s the point but it certainly looks “skin like” and very subtle.  It certainly dried fast enough for me too so happy with that. It also comes with a flat brush column so it makes it easier to apply than a traditional round brush. This shade and 10 others in the “fast dry” range are available £1.99 from Superdrug but you can view the colours here.

NewCID’s i-Polish in Tiramisu is what I’ve been searching for in a varnish for quite some time.  It’s elegant, chic, glossy, subtle and grown-up.  I actually wouldn’t have chosen this shade myself – and although probably not  “complexion” it still fits within nude but it looks quite brown in the bottle.  It dries on with the tiniest purpliest hint – others might call it “mushroom” and I just can’t seem to get the camera to do it justice. And of course, NewCID polishes come with a groovy inbuilt light.  £10 from NewCID.   This is now my new favourite varnish!

i – polish is free from the three nasty ingredients found in traditional nail polishes, Formaldehyde, Toluene and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP).
