New Year’s Resolutions You Should Try (Again) in 2018
New Year’s Resolutions You Should Try (Again) in 2018
We’ve all been there; we set high goals to achieve in the beginning of the year and we ended up not accomplishing most of them. New Year is a couple of weeks away and the big question remains: how many of this year’s resolutions did you achieve?
Well, it is time to plan for 2018. There are some New Year’s resolutions that will still be popular next year. If you haven’t set your goals yet, these resolutions – and the tips on how to achieve them this time – are definitely worth adding to your list.
I Want to Exercise More
Exercising routinely isn’t as easy as it seems, especially if you’re used to not having an exercise routine at all. Worry not, because 2018 will be the year you start exercising and improving your body. You just have to know how to start.
First, start exercising as early as possible and begin with lighter exercises. You want to start taking regular 30-minute walks on the 2nd day of January, not several weeks into 2018. The sooner you start, the more motivated you will feel.
Starting with lighter exercises will also help you stay motivated for longer. Forget about getting a gym membership and hiring a personal trainer. Lighter exercises such as walking, running, and swimming are more fun and easier to stick with or even do a personal training course to learn how to train properly.
I Want to Make Better Bad Decisions
This resolution is actually one of the funny resolutions listed in a post by This Blog Rules. It may be funny, but it is still a resolution that you want to add to yours in 2018. There is nothing wrong with making bad decisions every now and then; in fact, bad decisions are how you get the most fun.
It is important to take good care of yourself. That means loosening up every now and then and simply doing the things you love the most. It’s okay to spontaneously book a flight to the Maldives or just spend a weekend doing nothing but watching movies and eating ice cream.
The goal isn’t to do bad things; it is to maintain a balanced life. You can make up for the bad decisions you make by doing better at work or investing your time into helping others. It’s a win-win situation, isn’t it?
I Want to Start Investing in My Retirement
Retirement planning isn’t something you want to do later in life. There is no better time to start investing in your retirement than right now. There are several ways to do it too.
You can start by making small savings. That cup of coffee you buy every morning or the extra pair of shoes you don’t really need can easily be turned into savings. It will not take long before you save enough money to start investing, and there are plenty of investment instruments you can use today.
The most important thing about having New Year’s resolutions is to act on them. Don’t wait; don’t think too much. Start doing the things you want to achieve and stick with them. You’ll be surprised by how many of the 2018 resolutions you actually accomplish by this time next year.
