Make It An Egg-stra Special Easter with Prestat’s Royalty-Endorsed Chocolate Delights.
Prestat’s Easter Parade of five Easter eggs are the grandest
money can buy…
The extravagant offerings, made from finest milk and dark chocolate, are filled with either truffles, Rose and Violet Crèmes or Sea Salt Caramels. Presentation boxes are designed by the renowned artist / illustrator Kitty Arden – think Prestat’s trademark gold swirls and bright pink with each gold-foiled egg nestled on a bed of fuchsia tissue. These eggs small (170g), or large (227g), are handmade.
The Rose and Violet Crème Easter Egg – crafted from finest dark chocolate (71%) and filled with Prestat’s legendary Rose and Violet Crèmes. The delicately scented chocolates were the Queen Mother’s lifelong favourites.
The Milk Chocolate Easter Egg and The Dark Chocolate Easter Egg are both filled with the Finest Ganache Truffle.
The Sea Salt Caramel Easter Egg is a new recipe that is already taking chocolate fans by storm. Softest sweet caramel infused with a hint of sea salt fills the finest 71% dark chocolate resulting in an explosion of taste.
The Marc de Champagne Easter Egg is made from velvety milk chocolate and filled with Marc de Champagne Truffles. They are not only among the most popular truffles sold in Britain, they are also regularly chosen for state banquets and first nights where they are served to kings, queens, princesses and presidents as well as stage and screen stars. The only egg superior to all of the above is a bespoke work of art rumoured to contain a white rabbit. And rest assured that Prestat’s tightlipped demeanour over it is only confirming the extravagance that this egg surely is.
Prestat Facts
· In 1902, Antoine Dufour, already an established confectioner, opened a chocolate shop called Prestat in London. He is also the man who created the world’s first recorded chocolate truffle.
· Prestat’s reputation for making exquisite handmade chocolates quickly spread and before long, maharajas, sultans, presidents and stars of the stage and screen had all experienced the delights that only the finest chocolate can bring.
· Thanks to HRH The Queen Mother and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granting the business a Royal Warrant, Prestat chocolates continue to be served at every major state banquet.
· Roald Dahl, the author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, was an eager customer who wrote in his autobiographical recipe book, Memories of Gypsy Corner, “I also adore so-called truffles…as Prestat makes them.”
· Propelled forward by Bill Keeling and his half-brother Nick Crean who bought the business in 1998, Prestat has enjoyed one of the most exciting chapters in its history, including commissioning Kitty Arden (see above) and creating many new chocolates. In 2011, Prestat began exporting chocolates to the USA.
