Great finishing products for shiny and sleek hair
I generally favour smooth and sleek hair over “big” hair as the cuticles often stick upright and make my hair look very messy. Over the years I’ve had the chance to try a number of products. Here are some good ones for my fine/flyaway but sometimes “fluffy” hair.
Umberto Giannini – Shine Glossing Mist. Love this product as it’s so lightweight, makes hair feel soft and shiny and manageable. Often kept a handbag sized in my desk drawer at work. Great for keeping hair looking fabulous all day.
Charles Worthington Front Row Serum. Great for putting on ends before blow drying or if ends feel a little fluffy after drying, smoothing them out. A very fine layer over the whole hair smooths everything out.
Phytolisse Finishing Serum by Phyto. Lovely product, a very lightweight serum for smoothing off the whole hair and polishing the look…but also for reviving hair inbetween washes. The directions are to use it before blow drying too so this is very much a “must-have” haircare product as it can be used every time you deal with your hair – wet or dry. I also love the ethos behind Phyto and will be looking at this brand in a bit more detail come the New Year!
TommyGuns Smoothing and Finishing Creme. Another beautiful product that leaves my hair feeling amazing. I only use it on the last 3/4 of my hair but smooths everything out (especially since my ghd’s are at my mums till Xmas!)
Uniq One. got this in a beauty box, it’s a great handbag sized “sort your hair woes on the go” type product. It deals with 10 hair areas and appears to be a leave in mask. Great for before bed.
This is an old product from Label m which is a stick product – I actually picked it up in Poundland. I use it to smooth the follicles after blow drying (instead of straightening) which helps with preserving great hair. You can’t buy it any more as Label m have repackaged since but there’s a great alternative in their Shine Mist or their Shine Spray (UV shield) which are both great finishing sprays. You can buy Label m from Cheap Smells, Amazon, Look Fantastic or in salon. It’s my favourite salon brand.
