Bee venom masks
We’re all in a buzz about bee venom here at Simply Woman. Not one but TWO brands have kindly offered us the chance to try their bee venom wares so we thought we’d compare them side by side to see what the differences are.
First up is Heaven Skincare’s Bee Venom Mask (£25.30 for 15mls) From homegrown, organic skincare company Heaven – this little jar of skincare mask has all the right ingredients to soothe skin as well as provide a liftening and tightening effect. Bee venom has many of the same properties as botulism (Botox) but is safer to use in the long run. Heaven Skincare created the original Bee Venom Mask and it contains Abeetoxin™ which is exclusive to the Heaven Bee Venom range. This special ingredient has won Deborah Mitchell (CEO and creator) a Stevie award for the research and development of this ingredient.
It also contains legendary healing Manuka honey, shea butter, rose and lavender for an all round soothing, lifting, softening and rejuvenating experience. You can find the Bee Veenom mask along with other gorgeous organic goodies at Heaven Skincare
Manuka Doctor Rejuvenating Face Mask (£49.99 for 50ml)
Since this brand focuses on the healing properties of the honey it clearly states how much Manuka and at what clinical strength (the active ingredient that heals…goes from 10+-30+) In addition to the powerhouse ingredients of Manuka and Bee Venom there’s also bee propolis, Royal Jelly, Kaolin Light Clay, Rosehip Seed Oil, Blackcurrant Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter contained within. A fabulous concoction of soothing, hydrating and healing ingredients topped off with nature’s own version of botox.
This mask is definitely thicker than the Heaven Skincare but once on your face and smoothed on it melts in as well. It’s darker in colour perhaps due to the cocoa and shea butter content. Although this brand isn’t organic it does use mostly natural ingredients.
~This product is currently on special offer for £32.49 from the Manuka Doctor website
So in conclusion;
Both these masks have wonderful ingredients, smooth on nicely and skin feels nourished afterwards. I wasn’t seeing a huge tightening effect but Heaven Skincare’s tingled on the skin more than the Manuka Doctor one.
I’d say if you are strict about buying organic go for the Heaven one, if you are really into your manuka get the Manuka Doctor one as it tells you exactly what strength of honey is in it.
Otherwise, they are both a lovely buy and will leave your skin feeling amazing The choice is yours!
*Both products were sent as PR Samples for our consideration*
