Argania Moroccan argan oil haircare

It all started with a certain brand. Argan oil burst onto the beauty scene about 5 years ago and has gone from strength to strength ever since. It can now be found in products as diverse as mascara, skincare, haircare, BB creams. However it seems it can’t be ingested so for the moment will remain a purely external beauty secret.

Argania is a new range of haircare, skincare and tanning from New Zealand containing certified organic Moroccan Argan oil for deep hydration.  They found the best argan oil from a source in South West Morocco and have combined it with other gorgeous natural ingredients to make their range of skin/haircare.

Desert Defence Moisture Repair Shampoo & Conditioner

We had the pleasure of trialling this particular item from the range – a targeted repair duo amping up the power of the Argan oil for those of us with ratty, dry, dehydrated hair that has seen better days. The shampoo is sulphate free so it doesn’t lather into huge bubbles like the high street brands you may be used to but that doesn’t mean it isn’t working. You just need to learn to work it into your scalp and smooth it out into the length of your hair to ensure you are getting the cleaning aspect throughout your hair.  My hair felt soft and smooth afterwards, it’s hard to tell if a full repair job was being done as you can’t see down to the microlevel of what’s going on in your hair and it’s also worth remembering anything past 2 inches from the scalp is essentially dead

Based on the cost and the amount required to cleanse long hair, I’d be saving this for a once or twice a week treat. Perhaps if your budget can accommodate it you may wish to use it daily?

I have horribly tangly hair now that I’m trying to grow it out so I was keen to try out this leave in conditioner that promises cashmere soft hair. I’m finding it really hard to get a comb through my hair in places but this lovely little product spritzes on easily so I can use my Tangle Teezer and whip through the knots.

Argania has created a light oil which is designed for fair, fine, straight hair to nourish it.  This was perfect for me, I hate putting oily things on my hair from days of being an oily haired teenager, so it feels totally alien to me.  This is great for use on the tips and through the ends to help remove knots and matts.
