A Million Guiltless Pleasures
EMMA THOMPSON, STEPHEN FRY, JACK DEE and JIMMY CARR head a list of well known faces who are backing the launch of wine with a conscience,
Millione EMMA THOMPSON commented: “Oh that’s lovely… full of hope and joy and that’s the best taste I’ve ever tasted in a wine.
STEPHEN FRY said: “Mmm, oh yes, oh god, oh hell yes…”
Millione is a delicious lightly sparkling Frizzante rose from Italy. It looks good, it tastes good and it does good. For every bottle sold, £1 will go towards building community-run primary schools in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The aim is to sell one million bottles to raise £1 million. With that, 20 new schools will be built to educate 10,000 children a year for years to come.
Millione has been created by three friends who have spent their lives working in the wine industry. Jerry Lockspeiser, Mike Paul and Cliff Roberson have over 100 years wine business experience between them. Jerry visited Sierra Leone with the anti-poverty charity ActionAid. He came back determined to raise desperately needed funds for primary education there by doing what he does best, creating a new wine brand.
The not-for-profit Millione Foundation was born and Jerry, Mike and Cliff are asking the wine buying public to become one in a Millione. Millione is a fun wine, said Jerry. “It’s about celebrating life and hope. It’s also about inspiring friends to share a bottle together in the knowledge that parents and children in Sierra Leone are celebrating the gift of an education.
