Charles Worthington Salons have launched their new BEAT collection, featuring digital influencer Fleur de Force. The collection, which is launched yearly by Charles Worthington MBE sets new trends, styles and both cutting and colouring techniques for the year ahead. As part of the new BEAT Collection the salon brand are launching two new colouring techniques, lash layering and the shaded halo. Charles and Katie took their initial inspiration from the SS16 catwalks such as Burberry, Yves Saint Laurent and KTZ for the Charles Worthington 2016 BEAT collection. The colour palette draws on the shades of yellow and dark metallic which have been translated into buttery blondes and metallic shades for brunettes. Divulging from the catwalks, Charles & Katie wanted to inject a beatnik vibe which has given the BEAT collection a rebellious edge and have drawn on key idols in history including Joan Jett, Rod Stewart and modern day influencers such as Katy Perry, Demi Lavato and Gwen Stefani.

LASH LAYERING

‘Lash Layering’ is a colouring technique designed to create very subtle sun kissed lights throughout both the fringe and mid lengths and ends of hair. Inventive lashes were all over the catwalks of Jeremy Scott and Louis Vuitton SS16 which gave Katie Allan, Creative Manager at Charles Worthington Salons, the inspiration to free hand paint micro lights of hair colour – using a brush similar to a mascara brush! This technique allows for finer strokes of colour in the hair, whilst creating a more natural look compared with traditional foils.

THE SHADED HALO

The shaded halo is the ‘new ombre’ for 2016. The technique involves taking a diamond section at the crown, and using a block colour of choice from root to tip to create intensity and depth and to accentuate length within the haircut. The shaded halo can be dramatic and daring by choosing darker shades such as black or brown, or can be made more subtle by using tonal shading.

The NEW cut to enhance volume and movement in hair

Charles Worthington Salons are always at the forefront of the latest innovations and training in hairdressing and as part of the 2016 BEAT collection, Charles Worthington MBE and Katie Allan, Creative Manager at Charles Worthington Salons have created a new cutting technique called ‘Flip Cutting’. Flip Cutting involves a slight twist before cutting the hair, allowing the stylist to create a bevel that compliments your face shape. This technique can be applied to any area and section of the hair to enhance volume and movement, but works especially well for drapes (THE new word for fringes coined by Charles and his team).

The Drape

Charles Worthington Salons are forecasting fringes to make a big comeback for 2016 and ‘flip cutting’ is the ultimate answer in creating a perfect arch to any fringe. The fringe has been reinvented as ‘The Drape’ for 2016 and Charles Worthington are forecasting fringes to be dominant trend increasingly requested by celebrities.
