Christmas party tips
Smart Tailoring
If you’re not a dress girl, or you don’t fancy splashing anymore cash on a something which will only be worn once. Go for smart tailored pieces which can be worn again through the party season as separates, without having to worry about outfit repeating. Start with a classic suit, pick a cut that suits your figure but a wider leg is super on trend this season. White is a great colour to go for, it’s elegant and will go with everything – just be careful of red wine stains! Go for the low cut look by carefully using Hollywood tape to secure the blazer to your chest if you dare to bare some skin. If not, layer over a simple lace piece. TIP: Hollywood tape sticks better on bare skin, so avoid using oils or lotions before applying.

Do Kate Moss and Do Embellishment
Tis the season to sparkle after all. Kate Moss manages to work embellishment into her looks without looking overdone by keeping hair and makeup understated. Avoid looking preppy by wearing your hair simple, keeping makeup light and smudging your eyeliner – you want to look like you weren’t trying. This is a hard look to master but when it’s right, it’s SO right. The key is to keep your silhouette casual. Wearing your embellishments on an oversized tee style, pair with black jeans and killer heels to achieve that evening-casual glam.

70s Rock Glam
Whilst black is slimming and looks chic, it tends to look flat on pictures. So if you want to get that perfect Instagram this party season step out your comfort zone. Channel the AW15 trend of 70s rock glam by updating your black staples – LBD, leather skirt, skinny jeans – with this seasons LUXE accessories. Look for statement faux fur, leopard print and skinny scarves. These can be worked into many outfits and will carry you through the party season, giving outfits you already have a new party attitude. Go the full nine yards and go for heavy eye makeup and a Debbie Harry do’.

Shimmery makeup
A quick and easy way to update your look for this party season is to use a loose shimmery pigment as a multipurpose highlight. Pick a white or gold shimmer which suits your skin tone, lightly dust over the high points of your face – cheekbones, tip of the nose, cupids bow and brow bone – for a quick take on the ‘strobing’ makeup trend. Use the same shimmer to pep up a smokey eye by using your finger to pat product over eyeshadow in the centre of the eye. By patting the product into place, not sweeping it over the lid, you get a more three dimensional look. Finish up with fake lashes for a fluttery, shimmery look.
TIP: To get a supermodel glow, don’t forget to sweep a shimmer over your decollatage, collar bones and down your shins. Makeup artists for the Victoria Secret Angels do this and this little touch catches the light to make all the difference.
